Kade Boughton
Ordained Minister in New Hartford, Connecticut
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became an ordained minister because I believe in serving my community, and one of the most meaningful ways I can do that is by helping couples and families have a stress-free experience without needing to find extra vendors or navigate barriers just to say ‘I do.’ For me, being ordained is simply another way to show up fully for the people I serve.
It also matters deeply to me that queer couples and underserved communities have access to celebrations that feel safe, joyful, and completely their own. Becoming ordained allows me to create and hold that space at Wildflower Hill (a place where love, in all its forms, is honored with intention, warmth, and belonging).
Beyond weddings and elopements, being ordained means I can support people through other meaningful moments: farewells, memorials, and ceremonies that honor grief, connection, and community with the same care and intention as I would a wedding or elopement.
Where are you from?
I'm from East Haven, CT, a beach town that made me realize I was destined for the mountains. I now reside in the woods of Pine Meadow, CT.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I hope to use my ordination to make these moments (celebrations, commitments, and farewells) easier, kinder, and more accessible for the people I serve. I want to create spaces where love, identity, and community are honored fully, and where queer couples and underserved communities never have to question whether they will be welcomed.
My goal is to offer support wherever it’s needed, and to help people mark life’s chapters with intention and belonging.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a New Hartford, CT wedding officiant?
My ceremonies feel special because they’re crafted for the communities I serve. I don’t use templates or generic scripts — every ceremony is personal, thoughtful, and shaped around the couple’s story, values, and hopes.
I hold space with care, focus on connection rather than performance, and do all I can to make sure the moment feels calm, grounded, and authentically meaningful.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I am most experienced with public ceremonies held in state parks, or private elopements for small groups. I don't mind going anywhere there is a need.
