Shanna
Ordained Minister in Phenix City, Alabama
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church because I wanted to perform a wedding ceremony for my sister. Although the ceremony didn’t happen as planned, that decision opened my heart to a deeper sense of purpose. It reminded me how special it is to be part of people’s most meaningful moments whether that’s through marriage, encouragement, or simply being someone they can turn to for spiritual support. Since then, I’ve continued to grow in my faith and calling. I’m currently earning my bachelor’s degree in theology with a minor in Psychology at Liberty University, where I’m learning how faith and understanding work together to bring comfort and guidance to others. Becoming ordained wasn’t just about that one event anymore it became part of my journey to serve with love, kindness, and compassion in everything I do.
Where are you from?
I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but I moved to Phenix City, Alabama with my husband in 2021. Atlanta will always hold a special place in my heart, but Phenix City has become our peaceful home a place where I’ve continued to grow in faith, family, and purpose. The move gave me space to slow down, focus on my studies, and deepen my walk with God while building a life rooted in love and service.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
Through my ordination, I hope to share love, encouragement, and understanding with others during life’s most meaningful moments. Whether it’s officiating a wedding, offering a comforting word, or simply being a source of light in someone’s day, I want to use my calling to help people feel seen, valued, and supported. I also hope to continue growing in ministry as I pursue my bachelor’s degree in theology with a minor in Psychology. My goal is to combine faith and compassion to guide others through both joyful celebrations and difficult seasons. More than anything, I want my ordination to be a way to serve to bring people closer together and remind them that love and grace are always present.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Phenix City, AL wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is the heart I put into every moment. I take time to truly get to know each couple so that the ceremony feels personal, meaningful, and full of joy. With my background in Theology and Psychology, I approach every ceremony with both spiritual depth and emotional understanding. Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a big celebration, I want every person there to feel the warmth of love and the beauty of God’s presence.
