Sylvera T. Greene, PhD
Ordained Minister in Canton, Ohio
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I am the Executive Pastor of the Apostolic Faith Assembly (AFA) in Canton, Ohio. My walk with the Lord began when I was filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost on May 17, 1974, and baptized in Jesus’ name on September 5, 1978, at Mount Calvary Pentecostal Church in Youngstown, Ohio, under the leadership of Bishop Norman L. Wagner. There, I served faithfully for 20 years as a choir member and as a Sunday School teacher for the New Members Class. After moving to Canton, I served under the leadership of my late husband, Pastor Dr. Kermit J. Greene I, at the Apostolic Faith Assembly for 17 years as the Church Facilitator and Minister of Music. I accepted my call to preach the Gospel in 2010, and following my husband’s passing, I was elected as Senior Pastor on April 12, 2016. Having walked with the Lord for over 45 years, I sought online ordination to formally recognize my lifelong calling and to expand my ministry—ensuring I could continue to serve, teach, and officiate sacred ceremonies with both spiritual and legal authority.
