Andre Maurice Anthony
Ordained Minister in Houston, Texas
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became an ordained minister online during one of the most painful and transformative times of my life — after losing both my mother and grandmother. Their passing created a deep emptiness, but it also awakened something spiritual in me. I wanted to honor the legacy of two women whose strength, faith, and love shaped who I am.
Becoming ordained wasn’t about a title — it was about finding healing, connection, and purpose. It gave me a way to serve others who are hurting, to speak life in moments of loss, and to carry forward the same compassion and faith that my mother and grandmother lived by every day. In a way, it was my tribute to them — turning grief into guidance and love into ministry.

What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
Through my online ordination, I hope to continue the legacy of faith, compassion, and resilience that my mother and grandmother instilled in me. Their lives taught me the power of comforting others, especially in moments of pain, loss, and uncertainty.
My goal is to use this ordination to bring healing — not just through words, but through presence and understanding. I want to create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and spiritually renewed. Whether it’s officiating ceremonies, offering encouragement, or simply listening, I want to serve as a vessel of peace and purpose, honoring the two women who guided my heart long before they left this world.
