Robert Walker
Ordained Minister in Tahlequah, Oklahoma
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
When I first explored becoming an ordained minister online, it wasn't about religion in a traditional sense. It was more about connection. I’ve always believed that meaningful moments—weddings, memorials, even simple blessings—deserve to be honored with sincerity and presence, wherever and however they happen. The online option felt like an open door: a way to meet people where they are, to create spaces of meaning without barriers, and to help others mark life’s milestones in ways that felt authentic to them.
It wasn’t about titles or authority. It was about offering a little more warmth, a little more intention, in a world that sometimes forgets to pause and acknowledge what truly matters.

What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
At its heart, I hope my online ordination helps people feel seen and heard during some of life’s most meaningful transitions. So often, ceremonies like weddings, vow renewals, or memorials can feel distant or impersonal, especially when people don’t connect with traditional structures. I want to help create moments that truly reflect who someone is—their values, their story, their love.
Whether it’s officiating a small backyard wedding for a couple who just wants something real and intimate, or offering a few words of comfort during a difficult time, my goal is to bring warmth, empathy, and a sense of sacredness—even in simple, everyday settings. It’s not about performing a role; it’s about holding space for what matters most.

Additional Information
It’s important to be clear about these things. While my background and training are rooted in Christian tradition, my approach is deeply inclusive and respectful of all spiritual paths. I don’t see faith as a boundary, but as a bridge. Whether someone considers themselves deeply religious, spiritually curious, or somewhere in between, my role is to meet them where they are.
That means I honor Christian elements—like scripture, prayer, or sacramental language—when they’re meaningful to the people involved, but I also embrace more universal themes of love, commitment, grace, and community. The focus is always on what feels authentic and heartfelt to those I’m serving, not on enforcing a particular doctrine.
In the end, it’s about creating a space where people can connect to what they hold sacred, in whatever form that takes.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Tahlequah, OK wedding officiant?
I think what makes the ceremonies I officiate feel special is that they’re deeply personal—not just a script or a set of traditions. I take the time to really listen to the couple, learn their story, and weave those little details—how they met, inside jokes, shared dreams—into the ceremony. It becomes less about performing a ritual and more about celebrating them.
There’s also a gentle, calm presence I try to bring—making sure the moment feels unhurried, sincere, and full of heart. Whether the wedding is grand or simple, my hope is that everyone in the room feels the authenticity of the moment.

Additional Information
While my services are rooted in a respect for Christian traditions, I approach ministry in an inclusive, ecumenical way. That means I honor the depth and beauty of Christian symbolism, scripture, and prayer, while also leaving room for each couple or family to define what faith and spirituality mean to them.
Whether someone wants a ceremony filled with traditional hymns and Bible verses, or prefers a more subtle, reflective tone with personalized blessings, I work to blend reverence with relevance. My goal is to help people feel both grounded in tradition and free to make the ceremony genuinely theirs.
And it’s not limited to weddings—I also offer services for vow renewals, child blessings, and memorials, always with the same heart: honoring faith, love, and life’s sacred moments in a way that feels true to those involved.
If you’re thinking of planning something, I’d be happy to hear what you have in mind.
