Michelle Rae
Ordained Minister in Tulsa, Oklahoma
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became an ordained minister online because I wanted to create a safe, affirming space for love to be celebrated in all its forms. For too long, LGBTQIA+ couples have faced barriers—legal, social, and spiritual—when it comes to expressing their commitment through marriage. I wanted to be part of changing that. My goal is to officiate weddings for any couple who desires to be married, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation. That includes same-sex couples, transgender couples, nonbinary partners, and anyone else within the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. Love is love, and every couple deserves the dignity of having their union honored with joy, respect, and authenticity. By becoming ordained online, I was able to bypass traditional gatekeeping and step directly into a role where I could serve my community with compassion and purpose. It’s not just about performing ceremonies—it’s about standing up for equality, visibility, and the right to love freely.
Where are you from?
I'm originally from Texas, where I was shaped by the warmth, grit, and spirit of the Lone Star State. But over time, I’ve felt a strong pull toward Tulsa, Oklahoma—a city that’s captured my heart with its vibrant culture, welcoming community, and sense of possibility. Tulsa feels like the kind of place where I can truly plant roots and build a life that reflects my values. I want to make it my home—not just geographically, but emotionally and spiritually. It’s a city that embraces diversity, creativity, and growth, and I see myself thriving here, contributing to the community, and forging meaningful connections. Texas will always be part of my story, but Tulsa is where I see my future.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I hope to create meaningful moments by helping people marry their best friends—the person who makes them feel most seen, loved, and understood. There's something profoundly special about being part of a couple's journey as they commit to a lifetime of love and partnership. Through my ordination, I want to be a source of joy, connection, and celebration. I believe that love is one of the most powerful forces we have, and being able to officiate weddings allows me to contribute to that happiness in a deeply personal way. Whether it's a grand ceremony or an intimate gathering, I want to help make the day unforgettable and filled with love.

Additional Information
I don't personally identify with any particular religion, but I deeply respect the diversity of beliefs people hold. I believe in the fundamental right of every individual to explore, practice, or abstain from religion according to their own conscience. For me, freedom of belief is essential to a just and inclusive society—it allows people to connect with their values, traditions, and communities in meaningful ways. While I may not follow a religious path myself, I appreciate the role that faith can play in others' lives and support everyone's right to believe—or not believe—as they choose.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Tulsa, OK wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies truly special is the unique blend of my heart, personality, and passion. I don’t just officiate weddings—I pour my soul into them. My heart is fully present in every moment, honoring the love story unfolding before me. I bring warmth, sincerity, and genuine care to each couple I work with, making sure they feel seen, celebrated, and deeply supported. My personality adds a vibrant, joyful energy that helps couples and guests feel comfortable and connected. Whether it’s through humor, grace, or a calming presence, I tailor the tone to reflect the couple’s spirit while keeping the ceremony engaging and memorable. And my passion? It’s the driving force. I’m endlessly inspired by love in all its forms, and I treat every ceremony as a once-in-a-lifetime moment—because it is. I take the time to understand each couple’s journey, values, and vision, crafting a ceremony that’s not just beautiful, but deeply personal and unforgettable.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I don’t have a specific preference when it comes to travel destinations near me—I’m always open to exploring wherever the road leads. What excites me most is the opportunity to discover new places, immerse myself in unfamiliar cultures, and experience the unique character each location has to offer. Whether it’s a quiet town tucked away in the countryside or a bustling city full of energy, I find joy in the journey itself. For me, travel isn’t about returning to the same familiar spots—it’s about the thrill of the unknown and the stories waiting to be uncovered.
