Ryan Franko Frankowski
Ordained Minister in Carnegie, Pennsylvania
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I got ordained online because listen if I’m not drinking at the wedding, I might as well be running it. Plus, being queer, I wanted to make sure my friends and chosen family always had someone who could marry them without all the judgment or red tape. So yeah, I’m the sober gay minister that’ll get you hitched, keep it fabulous, and still make sure grandma’s not clutching her pearls.
Where are you from?
I’m from Pittsburgh, so of course I became an ordained minister online. We love a good side hustle here. And honestly, as a sober bi/gay guy, it just made sense I may not be taking shots at the wedding, but I’ll happily call the shots during the ceremony. Plus, I wanted my friends and chosen family to always have someone fabulous and inclusive to marry them without the boring rules.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
With my online ordination, I really just want to create spaces where love is celebrated without limits. As a sober gay minister from Pittsburgh, I hope to make weddings and ceremonies feel more fun, more inclusive, and a lot less stuffy. For me, it’s about being there for friends, chosen family, and clients on one of the biggest days of their lives and making sure the vibe is authentic, affirming, and unforgettable

Additional Information
I grew up Catholic I was confirmed, I’ve been in plenty of Catholic weddings so I definitely understand the tradition and the beauty in that. But I also feel like we’re in this new wave of spirituality, where people want something more personal, more inclusive, and less about rigid rules. That’s where I fit in: I respect the old traditions, but I also love creating ceremonies that reflect today’s mix of beliefs, values, and personalities.”
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Carnegie, PA wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is that they don’t feel cookie-cutter. I pull from tradition when it matters, but I also mix in humor, personality, and a whole lot of inclusivity. Being a sober bi/gay minister, I bring a perspective that celebrates all kinds of love while keeping the vibe authentic and fun. I want couples and their families to walk away feeling like, ‘that wasn’t just a wedding that was our wedding.’ It’s personal, it’s meaningful, and it’s memorable for all the right reasons.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I’ve been lucky to live and work all over. Right now I’m based in Pittsburgh Bloomfield is home but I know the North Hills, South Hills, and Shadyside like the back of my hand. I also spent time in New York’s Lower East Side, and in LA where I lived and worked in Century City, West Hollywood, and Beverly Hills. Internationally, I’ve lived in Milan and London, and I’ve worked across South America, Europe, and Asia. So whether it’s a backyard in the Burgh or a rooftop in Milan I’ll travel. Love has no borders, and neither do I.
