Ben Crenshaw
Ordained Minister in Mesquite, Nevada
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I am Ben Crenshaw, known as The Cyber Sensei. My ministry, in its simplest form, is about bridging the divide between academic knowledge and real-world application, particularly in the fields of cybersecurity and AI. I originally became an ordained Buddhist lay minister to provide a strong philosophical and ethical framework for my work.
My ministry's purpose is to infuse technology with wisdom and foresight. By applying principles such as mindful inquiry and direct experience—concepts rooted in my Buddhist practice—I aim to guide the future of technology in a way that is both responsible and beneficial.

What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
With my online ordination, I aim to provide a solid philosophical and ethical framework for my work as The Cyber Sensei. My goal is not to lead a traditional religious ministry, but to infuse the fields of cybersecurity and AI with wisdom and foresight.
I use principles from my Buddhist practice, such as mindful inquiry and direct experience, to guide my approach. This enables me to tackle complex problems and ensure that all technological advancements are made responsibly, ultimately benefiting humanity. In essence, I hope to achieve enlightened digital stewardship—guiding the future of technology with a strong ethical compass.

Additional Information
As a Buddhist lay minister, my religious affiliation is with the Buddhist tradition. I do not align with any specific sect or denomination, but rather with the core principles of the practice, which focus on mindful inquiry and direct experience. This spiritual path forms the ethical and philosophical foundation for all aspects of my ministry.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Mesquite, NV wedding officiant?
My approach to wedding ceremonies is unique because it's rooted in my identity as The Cyber Sensei and my background as a Buddhist lay minister. While a traditional officiant focuses on religious or civil rites, I incorporate the same philosophical principles that guide my work in technology.
My ceremonies are special because they are designed with mindful inquiry and direct experience in mind. I work closely with couples to understand their unique story and values. This allows me to create a custom ceremony that isn't just a recitation of vows, but a truly personal and meaningful reflection of their journey together. I help them craft a ceremony that honors their past, celebrates their present, and sets a compassionate and strong foundation for their future. The goal is to create a moment that is not only beautiful but also deeply authentic, serving as a powerful and grounding experience for both the couple and their guests.
