Capt Lee Steinberg
Ordained Minister in Beaufort, South Carolina
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I am a licensed U.S. Coast Guard captain and mariner. My wife and I are proud owners of a one-of-a-kind boat tour in Beaufort, SC (LowCo Tiki). Our tours are more than just sightseeing—they’re an opportunity where guests celebrate life’s most special moments. Our goal is to connect people and nature together, build meaningful personal relationships, celebrate life, and create lasting memories.
One evening, during a tour, a young man proposed to his girlfriend on our boat. The moment was pure magic, and we felt fortunate help plan and witness it. I was truly honored when they asked me to officiate their wedding since they hadn’t yet chosen anyone to guide them.
It is now an extraordinary privilege to serve my community in such a meaningful and personal way.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
Reflecting on the magic experienced on our boat inspires me to perform legal weddings, offering a cost-effective alternative for couples and families who may not be affiliated with a place of worship, have limited resources, or are simply seeking something more special than a civil ceremony at the county courthouse.
