James Patrick Smith Jr
Ordained Minister in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I chose to become ordained after a moment of reflection on Christmas Day. Surrounded by the meaning of the season—family, compassion, and renewal—I felt called to do more to help others mark the milestones in their lives with love and dignity. That day, I realized that ministry was a way I could offer both support and celebration, not just within my own community, but to anyone seeking a meaningful connection in their spiritual journey. Becoming ordained gave me the opportunity to serve people in moments of joy, loss, and growth, and it remains one of the most fulfilling decisions I’ve ever made.
