Nicolas Kienast
Ordained Minister in Lasalle, Ontario
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
Why I Originally Became an Ordained Minister
I first became an ordained minister online for a deeply personal reason. My niece, who is autistic, needed to be baptized—something my mother felt strongly about. At the time, we wanted the ceremony to be meaningful, comfortable, and tailored to her needs. So I took the step to become ordained, not out of ambition, but out of love and a desire to support my family.
What started as a one-time act of service quickly grew into something more. After officiating my niece’s baptism, I was asked by friends and acquaintances to officiate weddings. Each ceremony became an opportunity to connect with people during some of the most important moments of their lives. Over time, what began as a gesture of care evolved into a calling—one rooted in compassion, inclusion, and celebration.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Lasalle, ON wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is the personal connection I strive to build with each couple. I take the time to understand their story, their values, and what makes their relationship unique. Whether it's a traditional ceremony or something completely custom, I aim to create an experience that feels authentic and meaningful—not just for the couple, but for everyone in attendance.
I also bring a calm, inclusive, and respectful presence to every event. Having started this journey by officiating a baptism for my autistic niece, I’ve learned the importance of adapting to people’s needs and making sure everyone feels seen and supported. That mindset carries through to every ceremony I lead.
Ultimately, I want couples to walk away feeling like their wedding wasn’t just an event—it was a reflection of who they are and the love they share.
