Demelza Moon
Ordained Minister in Delmar, Delaware
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
My journey began with a degree in Religious Studies and time spent teaching, where I shared my love for faith, spirituality, and the many ways people connect to the divine. In 2020, I felt a deep calling to create my own coven—a sanctuary for healing, growth, and belonging. Many of my loved ones are part of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I longed to provide a space where they could feel fully embraced, honored, and supported—something so many traditional paths fail to offer. > > I, too, walk a non-traditional spiritual path, guided by the belief that it does not matter who you pray to or how you choose to pray. We are all branches of the same great Tree of Life, children of Mother Nature, each path a vital thread in the web of existence. When I considered pursuing seminary or advanced degrees, I realized that my calling was not tied to years of formal schooling. A trusted friend introduced me to a different path—one that felt aligned with my spirit and purpose—and I knew I had found the way forward.
Where are you from?
I’m from Texas originally, but Delaware is home now—it’s where I’ve built my community and feel most connected.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
With my online ordination, I hope to create a safe and welcoming spiritual space for all people, especially those who often feel excluded from traditional faith communities—like my friends and family in the LGBTQIA+ community. I want to provide meaningful ceremonies, guidance, and support that honor each person’s unique journey. My goal is to celebrate diversity in belief, remind people that all paths are sacred, and help others feel connected to the divine and to nature in a way that feels authentic and empowering.
Religious Affiliations
Unitarian Universalism
Additional Information
I follow a non-traditional spiritual path that honors nature and celebrates diversity in belief. I believe all paths to the divine are valid, and that we are all branches of the same Tree of Life. My faith is rooted in inclusivity, love, and respect for all people, no matter who they are or how they choose to pray.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Delmar, DE wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is the deep care I put into making them personal and meaningful. I take time to get to know each couple—their love story, values, and dreams—so the ceremony truly reflects who they are. My background in Religious Studies and my non-traditional spiritual path allow me to create inclusive ceremonies that honor all beliefs, traditions, and identities. Whether it’s weaving in cultural elements, spiritual symbolism, or simple heartfelt vows, my goal is to create a space where every couple feels seen, celebrated, and deeply connected.
