Additional Information
I was baptized and raised Roman Catholic and also nurtured in the Hawaiian United Church of Christ tradition at Maemae Church. In my teenage years, I began a personal spiritual quest to deepen my relationship with God, which led me to the Rastafarian faith. I spent several years within the Twelve Tribes of Israel denomination and later dedicated over a decade to independent study and practice outside of any formal denomination.
For seven years, I trained for the Melchizedek Priesthood within the Bobo Shanti Order, officially known as the Ethiopia Africa Black International Congress Church of Divine Salvation, headquartered in Bull Bay, Jamaica. I was honored to be appointed by the founders widow as a "priest in training", serving within a church embassy I established on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Today, I reside on the island of Oahu where I continue my priestly mission. I am currently studying the Divine Liturgy of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and have found myself coming full circle—rooted once again in the power of the Holy Trinity through Adonai Yehoshua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ). I also attend services at both St. Andrews Cathedral and Kawaiahao Church, and serve as a member of the Royal Order of Kamehameha I.
In addition to my religious studies, I have been trained in Hawaiian protocol since adolescence. This lifelong cultural grounding informs my approach to ceremonies with reverence for place, people, and ancestral connection.
At age 40, having served and studied within multiple faith traditions, I offer a unique and Spirit-led ministry that embraces the presence of God in all people. My spiritual journey is like a tapestry woven from many threads—each tradition adding depth, perspective, and grace. Just as one may earn multiple degrees in various disciplines, I see my path through diverse faiths as an accumulation of sacred insight.
This fluidity in God—unbound by rigid doctrine—is what sets me apart as a minister and officiant. I provide inclusive, heartfelt services that speak to a broad spectrum of people, especially those who may not identify with any one religious institution but still seek sacredness and divine connection in their lives most meaningful moments.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Kaaawa, HI wedding officiant?
My ceremonies are deeply personal, culturally rooted, and Spirit-led. What sets me apart is my ability to honor the sacred union of two people in a way that reflects their unique spiritual beliefs, family traditions, or cultural heritage—whether they are deeply religious, spiritual-but-not-religious, or simply seeking a meaningful and respectful ceremony. My diverse training allows me to blend elements from Christian, Hawaiian, and Rastafari traditions (and beyond) to create something truly one-of-a-kind. I approach each ceremony with reverence, joy, and the intention to call divine blessing upon the couple’s union.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I am based in the beautiful town of Kaaawa on the windward side of Oahu, Hawaii. Born and raised in Hawaii, I have deep cultural and spiritual roots here and feel especially called to serve couples and families across the islands. While I primarily offer my services on Oahu, I am open to traveling to the neighbor islands for ceremonies and blessings, especially when they are rooted in honoring aina (land), ohana (family), and sacred connection. Hawaii is my home, and I prefer to keep my ministry grounded here in these islands.
