Wendy Cooper
Ordained Minister in San Antonio, Texas
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became ordained in 2007 because I believe every couple deserves the opportunity to celebrate their love in a way that is meaningful, personal, and affordable. Through my wedding business, Your Wedding in a Box, which I founded in Ogden, Utah, I saw how traditional wedding expectations and costs could overshadow what truly mattered: two people choosing to build a life together.
Becoming an ordained minister allowed me to offer couples a more personal and inclusive experience. Today, I continue that mission in San Antonio, Texas, welcoming couples of all backgrounds, faiths, beliefs, and orientations. Whether a couple wants a traditional religious ceremony, a spiritual celebration, or a simple, nonreligious exchange of vows, my goal is to make their special moment feel genuinely their own.
Where are you from?
San Antonio, Texas
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
My goal is to continue helping couples celebrate love, commitment, and life's meaningful milestones in ways that reflect their individual beliefs, values, and traditions. Through Your Wedding in a Box, I hope to make beautiful, personalized ceremonies accessible to everyone, regardless of their budget, background, religion, or sexual orientation.
I also hope to expand my ministry beyond weddings by offering vow renewals, commitment ceremonies, home blessings, and new beginnings ceremonies, including spiritual and nonreligious options. Above all, I want every person I serve to feel welcomed, respected, and supported as they begin a new chapter in their life.

Universal Life Church
Additional Information
I have been ordained through the Universal Life Church since October 2007. While I respect and appreciate religious traditions, my ministry is inclusive and welcoming to people of all faiths, spiritual beliefs, and those who do not identify with any religion.
I believe meaningful ceremonies should reflect each individual's personal values rather than require adherence to a particular religious tradition. I offer Christian, interfaith, spiritual, and entirely nonreligious ceremonies, and I proudly welcome LGBTQ+ couples.
My approach is rooted in love, compassion, respect, and personal choice. Whether someone finds meaning through prayer, spiritual practices, or simply celebrating human connection, my goal is to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable and respected.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a San Antonio, TX wedding officiant?
What makes my ceremonies special is the personal connection I strive to create with every couple. Having worked in the wedding industry since 2006, I understand that no two love stories are alike, and I believe every couple deserves a ceremony that reflects who they are, regardless of their budget.
Whether it's a five-minute legal ceremony or a personalized celebration with family and friends, I bring the same warmth, care, and attention to every occasion. I welcome couples of all backgrounds, faiths, beliefs, and orientations, offering religious, spiritual, interfaith, and nonreligious ceremonies.
My goal is to take away the stress, embrace each couple's individuality, and create a meaningful moment they'll remember long after they've said "I do."
I bring warmth and calm to every ceremony, so couples can feel comfortable and just focus on each other in that moment. I also love adding small touches, like a meaningful quote or reflection about their journey, that makes their vows feel even more special.
At the end of the day, my goal is for every couple to walk away feeling loved, celebrated, and ready to start their marriage journey with confidence and joy. That’s what makes my ceremonies meaningful to me and hopefully to them too.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I am based in West San Antonio, Texas, and proudly serve couples throughout San Antonio and the surrounding communities, including Castroville, Helotes, Lackland AFB, Von Ormy, and the greater Bexar and Medina County areas.
I especially enjoy intimate weddings, elopements, backyard ceremonies, and meaningful celebrations in parks, gardens, and other locations that are special to the couple. I also welcome military couples and those planning ceremonies around busy schedules or limited time together.
Having originally established Your Wedding in a Box in 2006, I bring years of wedding industry experience to my new home in Texas.
I'm happy to travel throughout the greater San Antonio area, with additional travel fees for locations farther from my home base. My goal is to make getting married simple, affordable, and personal, whether we're celebrating in your backyard, at a beautiful outdoor location, or somewhere that holds special meaning to you.
