Landon Lowery
Ordained Minister in Lumberton, North Carolina
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I wanted to become a minister because I have always felt a deep calling to serve others and share the love, hope, and truth found in God’s Word. From a young age, I was drawn to the teachings of Jesus and the way faith could bring peace, guidance, and healing to people’s lives. I realized that ministry wasn’t just about preaching; it was about walking alongside others in their journeys, offering compassion, encouragement, and spiritual support. Over time, I recognized that God had placed a burden on my heart to help people find purpose and direction through Him. Becoming a minister means being a vessel for God’s work—leading by example, teaching truth, and being present in both the joyful and painful moments of life. I also value the opportunity to build strong relationships within a church community and help individuals grow in their faith. It is my passion to help others discover who they are in Christ and to inspire hope even in the darkest times. Ministry is not just a role—it’s a calling I have embraced with humility and gratitude, and I am committed to serving faithfully for as long as God allows me to do so.
Where are you from?
Being from Lumberton, North Carolina has shaped who I am in many meaningful ways. Growing up in this small, close-knit community taught me the value of family, hard work, and resilience. Lumberton is a place where people know each other by name, where neighbors help neighbors, and where southern hospitality is more than just a phrase—it’s a way of life. The rich cultural diversity of the city, especially its strong Native American, African American, and Hispanic communities, gave me a deep appreciation for different backgrounds and perspectives. Despite facing economic struggles and challenges like flooding from hurricanes, the people of Lumberton have always shown strength and unity in tough times. Our churches play a central role in the community, and I was blessed to grow up surrounded by faith, prayer, and support. It was in this environment that I first felt the call to ministry, inspired by the people who lived out their faith every day. Being from Lumberton means carrying the values of humility, compassion, and perseverance with me wherever I go. No matter where life takes me, I will always be proud to call Lumberton home, because it gave me the foundation to become the person I am today.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
In ministry, I hope to achieve a lasting impact on the lives of others by guiding them into a deeper relationship with God. My goal is to be a faithful servant who not only teaches the Word of God but lives it out daily with integrity, humility, and love. I want to help people discover their purpose, experience the transformative power of God’s grace, and walk boldly in their faith. I hope to create a welcoming, spirit-filled environment where individuals from all walks of life feel seen, heard, and valued—regardless of their past or present struggles.
I also hope to be a mentor and encourager to the next generation of believers, equipping them to grow spiritually and lead others with confidence. Ministry, to me, is not about a title or position but about building relationships, restoring brokenness, and reflecting Christ in every area of life. I aim to be a source of comfort during times of grief, a voice of truth during confusion, and a consistent example of God’s love in action.
Ultimately, I want to glorify God in all I do and leave behind a legacy of faithfulness, compassion, and spiritual growth. Whether through preaching, teaching, counseling, or simply being present, I hope my ministry will lead people to salvation, healing, and a deeper understanding of who God is. I trust that as I continue to grow in my own walk with Christ, He will use me to help others do the same.
