Melissa Ann Parker
Ordained Minister in Pasco, Washington
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I grew up in the Lutheran (ELCA) tradition and attended a Lutheran College. After college, I served as a youth minister in a congregation for a short time. Life’s twists and turns have lead me down a wider, more inclusive “to thine own self be true” spiritual path. After hearing the frustrations of my non-religious friends who had trouble finding a minister to perform their marriage ceremony or sign their marriage license, I decided to become ordained online as a way to help them in their quest for a legal marriage.
