Brother Minister Guy Sanders
Ordained Minister in Branchville, South Carolina
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I've been a student of spirituality and religion since I was in my teens. I was first ordained at 19, but I decided that I needed to learn and experience more of life before becoming an ordained minister with the Universal Life Church.
Where are you from?
I'm originally from Brooklyn, but I currently reside in the central South Carolina Low Country.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I hope to be able to share my experiences with others from a spiritual perspective and to use my experiences to assist and comfort others. As a 9/11 and Hurricane Katrian first responder who has seen life and death first hand, these experiences have taught me valuable lessons that I believe will be helpful to tohers in their jouney.
Religious Affiliations
Christianity, Islam, Jehovah's Witnesses, Unitarian Universalism
Additional Information
While I consider myself spiritual as opposed to religious, I have been a minister of Jehovah's witnesses starting in my youth, of Islam, and have recently given sermons for Unitarian Universalism. I have learned to find the commonality and apply relevant messages to individuals based upon their needs and desires.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Branchville, SC wedding officiant?

I live in South Carolina and prefer to travel interstate but I have been known to travel into other states based upon financial accommodations.
Types of Service Offered
Same-Sex Marriages, Renewal of Vows, Handfastings, Funerals, General Ministry, Spiritual Guidance
Additional Information
I have been living with 9/11 related cancer for almost 15 years. I've lost my parents and a sibling, presiding over services for one of my own parents. I have seen the beginnings of life by assisting with childbirth, and the culmination of life through a variety of means. I believe witnessing these things and everything in-between gives me a unique perspective on live, on resilience, on the fears and concerns of everyday living, on dealing with illness and depression. It is not an abstract with me, but a witnessed and experienced reality, so I can provide a more empathetic position.
