Erica Covington
Ordained Minister in Martinsburg, West Virginia
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became an ordained minister online as a way to combine my love for connection, community, and a bit of magic. Raised Christian, I’ve since reconnected with my Jewish roots—and through that journey, I’ve come to value spiritual expression in all its beautiful, diverse forms. I'm also a huge fan of fantasy and storytelling, so the idea of officiating themed weddings, elopements, or adventurous ceremonies felt like a perfect fit. Whether it’s a castle cosplay, forest handfasting, or a beachside vow exchange, I’m here for it. As an Army veteran, I also understand the unique circumstances that come with military life—deployments, last-minute changes, long-distance love—and I’m always willing to work with your schedule or situation. LGBTQ+ friendly—love is love, and if you wanna get hitched, I’ll be there, boots or cloak on, ready to make it official.
Where are you from?
I was born in Florida, raised in Ohio and now living in West Virginia.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
Honestly? I just want to make people’s big days feel like their days—whether that means wearing wizard robes, quoting Tolkien, or marrying two people dressed as space pirates. I became ordained to help folks tie the knot (or unbreakable vow, no judgment) in a way that’s fun, inclusive, and totally them. I’m here for love in all its forms- nerdy, spooky, dramatic, spontaneous. You wanna get married at a renaissance fair? On a hiking trail? In a backyard full of flamingos? I’m your minister. My goal is simple: celebrate love, spread joy, and legally yell “By the power vested in me by the internet. you may now kiss!”

Additional Information
I hold church in my heart and in my lived experiences with God—not in walls or titles. My faith has taken many forms over the years, and I’ve found beauty, truth, and connection in all of them. I don’t believe in gatekeeping spirituality or judging anyone’s path. Whether you're religious, spiritual, somewhere in between, or just here for the vibes—I’ll meet you with respect, compassion, and open arms. Love is sacred, no matter how you define it.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Martinsburg, WV wedding officiant?
No two love stories are the same—so why should the ceremonies be? What makes my weddings special is that I treat each one like its own unique adventure. I’ll dress up (yes, even in costume), dive into research for cultural, spiritual, or fandom-specific themes, and craft a ceremony that actually feels like you. Whether it’s a Viking handfasting, a Jewish-Christian fusion, or a fairy-tale elopement in the woods, I’m all in. I bring creativity, inclusivity, and a whole lot of heart—and I’m not afraid to wield a wand, sword, or lightsaber if it helps seal the deal.
