Michael Janz
Ordained Minister in Neumünster, Schleswig-Holstein
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church because I believe that everyone has the right to follow their spiritual calling and to serve others, regardless of institutional limitations. The ULC’s open and inclusive philosophy aligned deeply with my personal belief in spiritual freedom and interfaith respect. It provided a simple yet meaningful way to formalize a path I was already walking in my heart.
Where are you from?
I am from Neumuenster, a city in northern Germany. I work in a secular profession but have always maintained a strong spiritual foundation. With my ordination and my work through ULC – Germany, I strive to support other German-speaking ministers and seekers on their spiritual path, regardless of traditional religious boundaries.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
With my online ordination, I aim to serve individuals and communities through ceremonies, spiritual counseling, and guidance. I hope to empower others to live their faith authentically and to provide support for those who feel called to ministry, especially outside traditional church structures. Through ULC – Germany, I help others understand their rights and spiritual responsibilities.
Religious Affiliations
Asatru, Christian Science, Christianity, Druidism, Universal Life Church
Additional Information
I am an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church and deeply aligned with its values of religious freedom, equality, and the right to follow one’s own spiritual path. In addition to my ministry through the ULC, I have studied various spiritual traditions and completed a multi-year training in the Druid Order. While I do not represent any one belief system exclusively, I value the wisdom found across faiths and view my role as one of bridge-building—between people, paths, and spiritual understanding.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Neumünster, SH wedding officiant?
My ceremonies are deeply personal and tailored to each couple’s beliefs, values, and life story. I take time to understand what truly matters to them—whether they seek a spiritual, secular, or interfaith ceremony. As an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church, I honor love in all its forms and celebrate the couple’s unique journey. I believe that a wedding is not just a legal act, but a sacred moment of connection.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I am based in Neumuenster, in the northern part of Germany, and I regularly travel throughout Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg for ceremonies and spiritual services. I also have experience organizing and conducting weddings, blessings, and funerals in both urban and rural settings. Whether it’s a beach ceremony on the Baltic Sea or a private event in a garden or historical venue, I am flexible and happy to travel within northern Germany. Depending on availability, I may also travel further if the occasion is planned in advance and aligns with my schedule.
