Ordained Minister in Chicago, Illinois
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
As someone deeply committed to serving others—whether as an officiant, community leader, church owner, food pantry founder, or social services program designer—my decision to become an ordained minister online was driven by a desire to formalize my ability to support and uplift my community in meaningful ways. Online ordination provided a practical and accessible path to gain the credentials needed to perform ceremonies, such as weddings or funerals, which are pivotal moments for fostering connection and healing. It also aligned with my broader mission to lead with compassion, create inclusive spaces, and address spiritual and practical needs through my church, food pantry, and social programs. The flexibility of online ordination allowed me to quickly step into these roles while continuing to build and serve my community effectively.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Chicago, IL wedding officiant?
As a wedding officiant, community leader, church owner, food pantry founder, and social services program designer, and as the owner of the church Pope Leo XIV attended in his childhood, I believe what makes my ceremonies special is a unique blend of personal, spiritual, and community-focused elements:
Personalized Connection: I take time to understand each couple’s story, values, and vision, crafting ceremonies that are deeply personal and authentic. This ensures the wedding reflects their unique love and commitment.
Historical and Spiritual Significance: Officiating in or drawing inspiration from the church where Pope Leo XIV worshipped as a child infuses ceremonies with a profound sense of history and reverence, creating a sacred atmosphere that resonates with couples and guests.
Inclusivity and Compassion: My work with the food pantry and social services informs my approach, ensuring ceremonies are welcoming to all, regardless of background, faith, or circumstances, fostering a sense of belonging.
Community-Centered Spirit: As a community leader, I weave a sense of shared celebration into each ceremony, inviting families and guests to feel connected to the couple’s journey and the broader community I serve.
Meaningful Rituals: Drawing from my experience designing programs, I incorporate thoughtful, tailored rituals—whether traditional, modern, or interfaith—that elevate the ceremony’s emotional and spiritual impact.
These elements, combined with my dedication to service and the unique legacy of the church tied to Pope Leo XIV, create ceremonies that are heartfelt, memorable, and deeply meaningful for everyone involved.
