Cheryl-Lisa Parkinson
Ordained Minister in Lawrenceville, Georgia
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I come from a family of ministers, and over time, I’ve learned that faith isn't just something you believe—it's something you live. After all the trials and tribulations I’ve endured, I’ve reached a point in my life where I want to fully serve God and others. Becoming an ordained minister online gave me a path to do just that—to be a vessel for love, healing, and spiritual support. God is first in all that we do, and I believe this calling allows me to walk in His purpose for my life.
Where are you from?
I’m originally from the Bronx, New York, and I served in the U.S. Navy, spending a significant part of that time in Little Creek, Georgia. I’ve proudly called Georgia home since 1993.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
Through my online ordination, I hope to be a source of comfort, healing, and understanding for those who are hurting. I’ve walked through some of life’s hardest storms—surviving military sexual trauma in 1988, the loss of both my parents in 2008, beating breast cancer since 2002, surviving COVID in March 2020, and recently being diagnosed with congestive heart failure in 2024. Each of these chapters could have broken me, but instead, they built me—stronger in my faith, deeper in my compassion, and more committed to serving others.
I believe people connect with those who truly understand their pain and fear. My goal is to be that kind of servant—a witness to God’s grace and a vessel of hope for someone who needs to know they’re not alone and they’re not defeated.

At the same time, I embrace a non-denominational approach that allows me to connect with people from all walks of life. My focus is on love, understanding, and meeting people where they are in their spiritual journey—whether they’re deeply rooted in a faith tradition or just beginning to explore it.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Lawrenceville, GA wedding officiant?
My ceremonies are personal, heartfelt, and rooted in respect. I take the time to truly understand each couple’s story, values, and vision. Whether the ceremony is spiritual, traditional, or blended, I make sure it reflects their love in an authentic and meaningful way. My life experiences—military service, loss, healing, and deep faith—give me a unique sense of empathy, strength, and purpose. I don’t just officiate—I create a moment that couples and families will remember forever.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I’m located in Gwinnett County, Georgia, and have lived in the state since 1993. While I’m newly ordained, I bring a lifetime of experience as a Christian—walking in faith, serving others, and living through powerful testimonies of survival, healing, and purpose. My journey as a believer has shaped my heart to serve, especially those who’ve faced loss, trauma, or major life transitions.
I’m familiar with and available to serve throughout Metro Atlanta and surrounding areas—especially Lawrenceville, Snellville, Duluth, Stone Mountain, and Loganville. I also have a deep connection to the veteran and faith-based communities across Georgia and am happy to travel for ceremonies, house blessings, or spiritual guidance with advance notice.
