Carly Booth
Ordained Minister in Allison Park, Pennsylvania
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
It sounds like the setup of a Family Guy cutaway gag, but I got ordained on a whim while bored silly in my college dorm because I thought it would be funny, and I guess younger me was just determined to stick her fingers in as many pies as humanly possible. On paper, I've been ordained since 2017, but life got in the way and I haven't yet had the opportunity to put my ordination to any use.
Fortunately, I've matured considerably and lived a lot more life since then. I want to do genuine good in others' lives and I want to do work that makes other people (and myself) happy.
Where are you from?
Pittsburgh born and raised, I live in the North Hills.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I want to prevent the most sacred moment of the most important day of your life from becoming an embarrassing r/AskReddit story or the laughingstock of TikTok! In all seriousness, though, I hope to infuse your special day with lots of heart (and maybe even a little humor).
As a newcomer, my services are limited to weddings and vow renewals, but I hope to learn more and expand my repertoire.
Religious Affiliations
Christianity, Presbyterianism
Additional Information
I come from a Protestant background, but I'm fascinated by other religious traditions and will work with you to incorporate your beliefs (if any) into your ceremony.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
I am most familiar with the North Hills area of Pittsburgh, but am flexible with enough notice.
