I originally became ordained online because it was a quick, accessible way to gain the legal authority to perform meaningful ceremonies—especially weddings for friends and family—without the lengthy, expensive process of traditional seminary training. It provided an opportunity to embrace a personal calling and serve my community in a flexible, modern way.
