Jaborius D. Ball
Ordained Minister in Hattiesburg, Mississippi
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I originally became an ordained minister online because I wanted to officiate weddings and other ceremonies for people I care about in a meaningful, personal way. For me, it wasn’t just about the title—it was about being present for others during important moments in their lives, especially when they wanted someone who knew them and respected their beliefs. The online route made it accessible and allowed me to step into that role quickly and legally while still taking the responsibility seriously.
Where are you from?
I’m from Mississippi, but I am by way of Michigan. Growing up in Mississippi gave me deep faith, family, and community roots. At the same time, my time in Michigan exposed me to new perspectives and a broader understanding of people and purpose. Both places have shaped how I show up in the world—and ministry. Mississippi gave me the heart, and Michigan helped expand the vision.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
With my online ordination, I hope to create safe, inclusive, and meaningful spaces for people to celebrate life’s most important moments—weddings, memorials, or spiritual milestones. I want authenticity, compassion, and a personal touch, especially for those who may not feel fully seen or supported in traditional religious spaces. At the heart of it, my goal is to serve with love, intention, and integrity—meeting people where they are, not where others think they should be.

What makes my ceremonies special is the intention and heart I put into every detail. I don’t believe in cookie-cutter weddings—I take the time to really get to know the couple, their story, their values, and the energy they want to bring into their union. I aim to create a ceremony that feels personal, authentic, and sacred—whether it's full of laughter, tears, tradition, or something totally unique. My goal is for couples and their guests to feel deeply connected, present, and inspired in that moment.
