William Cody Cotton
Ordained Minister in Eros, Louisiana
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became an ordained minister online because I wanted to help people celebrate life’s most meaningful moments — vow renewals, memorials, and other ceremonies — in a way that felt personal and authentic to them. Traditional, one-size-fits-all services didn’t always resonate with the unique connections and values people share, and I felt drawn to offer a more heartfelt, customized approach. The accessibility of online ordination made it possible for me to quickly step into that role, focusing on the emotional and spiritual significance of the events rather than the formalities. It’s fulfilling to create memorable, inclusive experiences for people, honoring their beliefs and journeys on their terms.

What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
With my online ordination, I hope to create meaningful, personalized ceremonies that honor life’s pivotal moments in a way that feels authentic and deeply resonant for those involved. Whether it’s guiding a heartfelt memorial, leading a vow renewal, or offering spiritual support, I want to hold space for people to feel seen, heard, and celebrated — without the constraints of rigid traditions. My goal is to bring comfort, connection, and a sense of peace to those navigating transitions, helping them mark these moments with intention and sincerity. Ultimately, I want to foster experiences that leave a lasting emotional imprint, reminding people of their strength, love, and the beauty of their journey.
