Michael G Conard
Ordained Minister in Loyal, Wisconsin
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became an ordained minister in 2017, specifically to perform a friend's wedding. Since then, I have been asked to serve as post chaplain for the American Legion and in that capacity have performed full graveside services as well as presented the flag to surviving family members. As a 20-year veteran of the US Army, I consider the role that I fill as a sacred trust. I practice medicine as a full-time profession and I draw upon my spiritual upbringing, faith background, and life experiences to deal with the difficult tasks of giving bad news and dealing with lives/families that are approaching the inevitable transition to the next life. I hope that my ministry can assist those who request it and make their mental/emotional transition become a peaceful and welcomed transition.
Where are you from?
Green Bay, WI originally. Now residing in central WI.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I believe that there is only ONE God; a universal Creator; worshipped in many different ways under many different names and traditions that encompass the entire human experiences of the millenia. The world is divided by its religious diversity when it SHOULD embrace that diversity and work toward understanding that faith (no matter how we choose to express it and demonstrate it) is always directed to the same Creator. Religion is a manifestation of MAN and not of God. God (or by any other name/designation of your choice) loves EVERYONE - equally and without condition. I want to bring that message to the people whom I serve.
Religious Affiliations
Anglicanism, Catholicism, Christianity, New Age
Additional Information
Previously Roman Catholic. Strong background in Anglican tradition (17th/18th century) as historical reenactor. Non-denominational Christian is very heart of my ministry as a Legion chaplain. Student of Wiccan, ancient Norse, Judaism, and Islam.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Loyal, WI wedding officiant?
I have the expectation that couples who wish to have me officiate their ceremony will meet with me for a couple of hours to go through my "checklist" of needs and desires of the couple. I like to know the couple as well as possible so that I can personalize and be genuine in my sermon and the ceremony. It is THEIR ceremony and I want them to cherish it for the rest of their lives.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
Wisconsin; primarily Northeast, Central, and west Central WI.
Types of Service Offered
Marriages, Same-Sex Marriages, Renewal of Vows, Handfastings, Baptisms, Funerals, Christenings, House Blessings, General Ministry
Additional Information
I am especially interested in serving those who have been denied spiritual guidance, access, or ceremonial services by their official affiliated religious parishes/mosques/temples. The growing trend of pastors/ministers to decline services for those who were not "active" members of their church is not consistent with the philosophy of service.
