Detrick Tubbs
Ordained Minister in Indianapolis, Indiana
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I grew up in Fort Wayne Indiana, but I’m living in Indianapolis now. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart since 2010, and together we’re raising our three incredible daughters. They are my grounding force and a constant reminder of why I do what I do. As for my ministry, it’s simple. I’m here to help others tune into the deeper aspects that connect us all. I don’t see ministry as something rigid or traditional, but more as a way to bring a bit of light and insight wherever I go. My work isn’t bound by walls or ceremony it’s about creating moments of understanding, one person at a time. Life’s a mystery, and I’m here to walk that path with others, discovering as we go. My decision to become ordained online was about honoring a call that’s been with me for a long time. It wasn’t about titles or ceremony, but about stepping up to what I’ve always felt within. By getting ordained, I acknowledged that this path was real, that I was ready to help others in a deeper, intentional way. In a world that’s constantly evolving, online ordination felt like a natural way to blend my spiritual beliefs.
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, and that place definetely shaped me. It taught me a lot about life, about people, and about the way things connect. But if I look deeper, “where I’m from” goes beyond geography; it’s a shared space of experience and spirit. One word that I like to use is fragment we are all fragments of the same source.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
Through this ordination, my hope is to be a presence that brings peace, clarity, and insight to those who seek it. I’m here to help people find meaning in their lives not only through doctrine or rules, but by encouraging them to listen to their own inner guidance. My ministry is about honoring the inner being in each of us, making space for reflection, and maybe helping people see the beauty in both the everyday and the unknown. If I can do that, then I feel like I’m doing my part.

Additional Information
I draw inspiration from New Age, New Thought, as well as other spiritual philosophies, all of which encourage a deep personal connection with the divine and a respect for the power within each of us. I’m not limited by any single tradition, and my goal is to create a space where people can explore their own spiritual identity with openness and curiosity. I believe each person carries a unique relationship with the divine. My role is to help others better innerstand without judgment or expectation. Whether through New Thought principles, or any other path that resonates, I’m here to support individuals in connecting with their highest self in a way that feels authentic to them. This openness allows us to see ourselves and others as part of something greater, bringing together diverse perspectives for a deeper, shared understanding.
What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Indianapolis, IN wedding officiant?
Each ceremony I officiate is crafted around the unique energy and story of the couple this makes it special. I approach every wedding as more than a gathering or ritual it’s a moment to honor the journey of two people who have chosen to walk their paths side by side. I believe that marriage is a sacred bond that connects on more than one level, linking souls in a way that goes beyond words or promises. So, my role is to create an atmosphere where the love between two people is truly felt by everyone present. I take the time to get to know each couple’s story, their vision, and the values that brought them together. By bringing these personal elements into the ceremony, I create something that feels not only deeply personal but also timeless. My ceremonies aim to resonate on a spiritual level, celebrating not only the union of two people but the beginning of a shared life and a shared purpose.
Are there particular areas near you where you prefer to travel or have special experience?
Not at this time, but this is subject to change.
While my formal ordination is recent, my journey as a spiritual guide began back in 2016 when I first felt a strong calling to help others connect with their true selves. Since then, I’ve been learning and unlearning every day, deepening my understanding of spirituality, self awareness, and the sacred connections we share. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding and supporting people on their paths, offering insight, encouragement, and a safe space for exploration long before any formal title or ordination. My experience has been about meeting people where they are, without judgment, and helping them find clarity and purpose in their lives. This ordination is simply the next step in that journey, allowing me to share my calling more fully and intentionally. I bring to my ministry years of real, lived experience in helping people connect with themselves and others, and I’m grateful to continue this work in a way that honors both my calling and the trust others place in me.
