Daisy Dukes

I am Daisy Dukes, and I am formally known as Meloniece Gaskin. I was Born in Gary IN and Raised in Madison WI. I joined the Marine Corps and Served at MCAS Yuma AZ from 2006-2010.

After my service from the US. Marine Corps, I pursued a few different opportunities, from teaching children 0-18, serving as a government employee through many different government agencies to holding positions in the private finance industry in the previous 10 years of my life.

I found a passion in helping people purchase homes after being an insurance agent for approximately 3 years, where I was offered an opportunity to become a mortgage loan officer. I spent the last 6 years assisting many families throughout the country purchase homes using government insured and private financing.

I knew that my calling was greater than being a mortgage loan officer. I met my husband Marcus Dukes, and we have such a unique story about our marriage, but he is the one who brought me much closer to the Lord. I’ve have always asked God, even as a young child, what my true calling is and I started to read the bible more and more and stumbled across Matthew 6:33, But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. So before I asked God for anything in my life, to include my true purpose, God told me to seek first his kingdom.

Shortly after we got married, I got rebaptized at Impact Church and rededicated my life to the Lord Jesus Christ. After giving my life to the Lord, I experienced a whirlwind of events, what some may call Trials and Tribulations, to include financial loss, marital issues, parenting, you name it, it happened. I learned that in all things, we are more than conquerors. I continued to seek the Lord and his kingdom and ultimately led up to meeting the Lord face to face. I questioned God and tried to run from God, but he was always there. Some of the things that God showed me in the past 6 months were much better than anything that I’ve ever experienced in life.

I’ve always knew God was with me as a child. I felt blessed, even throughout my mistakes to include financial and legal matters, God has always delivered me. I’ve asked God to allow me to be a testimony to those whose faith may be a bit smaller than a mustard seed and after surrendering my life to the Lord, he is molding me into the woman that I needed to be. After seeking his Kingdom, I noticed that I had no more debt, my health has been restored, my marriage restored, and God allowed me to retire before the age of 40 to serve his Kingdom.

My message to anyone that I can reach out to is that you do not have to be perfect to be in God’s presence. God is the best creator in the world, and he loves rewriting stories. So I would encourage anyone and everyone to allow Jesus Christ in your life and allow him to lead you so that you are ready to seek his kingdom! God is good.
