LaToya Covington
Ordained Minister in Ranson, West Virginia
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
A deep encounter with love and the human spirit ignited an undeniable calling within me. Ordination wasn't a choice, but a response – a commitment to serve, connect, and illuminate the path towards hope and meaning for others. It's about embodying empathy and sharing the transformative power of faith in the world. This path chose me, and I embrace the profound privilege of walking it.

What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
My ordination isn't about personal gain, but about becoming a more potent vessel for love and service. I don't seek accolades or earthly treasures. What I hope to gain is the profound privilege of witnessing transformation in the lives I touch – to see hope bloom in barren places, to feel the resonance of connection in moments of isolation, and to be a conduit for healing and understanding. My reward lies in the deepening of my own spirit through selfless giving, in the forging of authentic community built on compassion, and in the quiet knowing that I am contributing, in some small way, to a more loving and just world. The true gain is not for me, but for those I am called to serve, and in their flourishing, my spirit finds its deepest fulfillment.

What do you think makes your ceremonies special as a Ranson, WV wedding officiant?
For me, making your wedding ceremony special as the officiant isn't about grand pronouncements or elaborate rituals. It's about creating a sacred space where your unique love story takes center stage. It's about crafting words that resonate with the depth of your connection, reflecting the journey that brought you here and the dreams you hold for your future. The power lies in authenticity – in weaving in your personalities, your shared values, and the promises you are making to one another in a way that feels deeply personal and true. Additional Information
My ministry isn't defined by towering pulpits or rigid doctrines, but by the open space I create for authentic connection and radical empathy. What sets it apart is a deep commitment to meeting people exactly where they are, without judgment or expectation, and walking alongside them on their unique spiritual journeys. It's a ministry that values questions over pronouncements, understanding over dogma, and lived experience over abstract theory. It's about fostering a community where vulnerability is strength, where diverse perspectives are celebrated, and where love isn't just preached, but actively practiced in tangible ways. My aim is to cultivate a space where the sacred is found not only in hallowed halls but in the everyday moments of human connection – in shared laughter, in comforting tears, in the courageous pursuit of justice, and in the quiet recognition of our shared humanity. This ministry is different because it's built on a foundation of genuine presence, unwavering compassion, and the profound belief in the inherent worth and potential of every single soul. It's a ministry that seeks to empower, to uplift, and to ignite the spark of the divine within each individual, allowing their own inner light to shine brightly.
