About Me:

My name is Dr. Timothy L. Hayes US Army Retired and Ordained Reverend of ULC. I joined the Military at age 17 where I served my Country during the Bosnia Kosovo Conflict, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and I crossed the boarder in 2003 into Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom. My military career came to an end just a few years shy of 20 years on my second deployment to Iraq due to injuries I received from catching the business end of a grenade. Fortunately I did not suffer any life altering injuries but it did cause injury to my chest and knee and I do have pain more often than not and walk with a limp. Before I joined the military I was not a religious person in the slightest, I was not sure if God was real or not. It was not until one day on the battle field on my first deployment to Iraq being one of the first units to cross the boarder when the order was given that that all changed. It was in the heat of an intense fire fight where we were pinned down by a larger force that I prayed for the first time. I asked God to get us out of this situation. Our back up was a few miles away but all of a sudden I felt a calm come over my body and a voice in my head that was not my own said to me you will be fine. A few seconds later I heard the unmistakable sound of an AH-64D Apache helicopter over head, he was near by and heard our traffic and rushed to get us out of a bad spot. The sound of his gatling gun and HE rocket fire was a true blessing. Had the Apache crew not shown up when they did we would have not survived. It was in that instant I knew God existed and he spoke to me and answered my prayer. Ever since that day I give thanks to God for all the blessings he has given me. And my life has been better for having him in it. Growing up as a member of the LGBTQ community and serving in the military during the Don't ask Don't tell era I faced many obstacles in life and have faced a lot of hate by people claiming to be men of God and casting judgment on me for who I love. Gods one true commandment was to love one another and to be kind. It is my belief that parts of the bible that mention and condemn people of the LGBTQ community are not the word of God. No one chooses to be Gay! Why would someone choose a life of ridicule? God made me the way I am and he continues to bless me each day. I mention this part about me because I want to be honest with everyone who may need my services. God loves all his flock and something I preach online is that We do not know anothers heart and who are we to judge, for it is not our job to point out the sin of others or cast judgement. God told us to love one another and be kind that did not mean only love and be kind to those who abide by the word of God. So many have been turned away from the lord by so called people of faith and it is those who will have to answer to God not the ones living life as God made them. I am a kind, loving and honest person. I put my faith above all else. I have been ordained for almost 15yrs now and I have performed numerous weddings, last rights, and have presided over many funerals of wonderful people who have been called home to be with our lord. Being ordained is something I have wanted to do since I was in my 20s but I did not pull the trigger until 2010 when a dear friend of mine asked if I would be the one to marry her and her sweet heart. She said she could not think of anyone else she would rather have than me. That meant a lot. I have been a Reverend at ULC ever since. I know that was a lot to read but I wanted to be as open about myself as possible because you are looking for someone to be a part of something important in your life rather it be a happy occasion like a wedding or somber one like a funeral. No matter the situation I will handle it with grace and dignity. I do not discriminate for any reason. I don't care if you are getting married and you are a same sex couple, interracial couple or have a noticeable a age gap. Love is love and no one should stand in its way. It saddens me that there are ministers, preachers and reverends out their that do not think two people should be joined due to the color of their skin. That is not a person of GOD! That is a person filled with hate against Gods creation. We are all created equal from the same flesh and the same blood of creations flows though our veins. I am here to serve you and your family, rather it be for a wedding, baptism, funeral or wake, last rights, marriage counseling or just someone to pray with. If you are battling addiction and need someone to talk to or to help you get resources like counseling or addiction treatment I am here to help. I can come to you! If you need you home blessed I can handle that as well. I just want to serve the people of my community and help them come closer to God.
