I'm not sure why someone should hire me, but I can tell you the motivation why I became an ordained minister. The main reason was my mother. When my mother passed away and I had to make her funeral arrangements, it became very clear to me real fast that making arrangements for her funeral wasn't going to be an easy task but I never thought it would be so hated too find a priest for her funeral. I figured my parents were Catholic, and we were Catholic. I thought to myself this shouldn't be a problem, but it turned out it was a big problem. When I went to the church, we used to go to as children to see if they would do her funeral services. I was asked by the current priest was she Catholic, I told him yes, then he asked me if she was a member of the church." I told him yes when we were younger. Then he asked if she was going to another church? That's when I told him she wasn't going to any church right now. That when he told me he could do the services for my mom, which shocked me cause I never knew a church could refuse but he did as well as 2 other churches and priest did the same thing refusing to do her services. All because she didn't go to their churches, which was really frustrating and made me angry at the time. I did finally find someone to do her services at the 4th church I visited. I found this very disturbing that a priest could turn down someone's last rights. Even though this happened many years ago since she passed away, it still weighed on my heart. I even heard family and other people talk about how hard it was for them to get their loved ones buried as well. Then there was the marriages that where behind denied by priest for the same reason or other reasons I feel should not have any bearing on a pertains right to get married as long as they love each other shouldn't be an issue. I'm not sure if this is a good enough reason, but I figured we all have to have some inspection behind what we do in life, and this is mine.
