Only follow the laws of Man when they do not interfere with the creators plan. No where in any scripture says you have to be in a religion. Just believe, fear, and most of all Loyal, loyalty you learn you follow you. No one can prove you will go to heaven. What harm is it to just follow. The leaders already made the path for each one, go in straight line, take the scenic route, no matter how you take your path, only you have that choice and you alone must walk it.
