I got ordained by the Universal Life Church Monastery to show my support for my friends and family who aren't necessarily religious but like myself, believe in love. I wanted to be able to bring couples together without the heaviness of a religious ceremony looming over them and them feeling undeserved guilt for not being of a certain religion or not being "religious enough". While I was brought up in church and have my own religious beliefs, I didn't find it fair that couples wanting to be married had to have that forced upon them. I wanted to show my support by giving them a ceremony focused on LOVE. After all, God teaches us to love others as you love yourself.
