Reverend Murphy
Ordained Minister in Attleboro, Massachusetts
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
Well this one's actually a funny story. So there's a comedian that I really like, and in one of his stand up bits, he was discussing about how easy it is to become an ordained minister. And that one of his best friends had done it, and he didn't believe him when he had claimed, it was as easy as it was. Well, one morning, around 2am I just happened to come across this video on social media, and in my moment of exhaustion, I thought to myself, is it really that easy though. So without much thought, I searched the internet and came across this church. I ended up filling out a basic information profile, thinking that they were going to put me on a wait list and contact me in a couple months, only to find out that I received a notification, as well as an email from the church. Congratulating me on becoming an ordained minister. After being accepted by the church, I questioned if this was really the path in my life I wanted to take, and I almost decided I was going to give it up. However, my beloved grandmother wished for me too give back to the church, and too not stray from the path of God while i'm alive on this earth. So the main reason I've held on to my ordainment is for that woman who I believe is a saint and because she wanted me to do something where I can honor God in one way or another. So being an ordained minister is my way of honoring her wish and doing something for the church.
Where are you from?
Born and raised in New England. However my Ancestry says otherwise.
What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
Although I hope to make an income off of this job because I do have bills to pay and mouths to feed. I would say the main thing I'm hoping to achieve by being a reverend is to ensure happiness amongst every type of person, regardless of their background or how they identify themselves. Everyone deserve the opportunity to be happy, and to know what it feels like to be loved buy another.
