To me, a meaningful ceremony reflects the values and experiences of the couple at its center. It creates, even for a moment, the world they want to live in, and it invites the people around them to support them in celebrating and creating that world. It gives everyone present a chance to be part of a new community, one that begins but doesn’t end with the couple at the center.

When I work with a couple, I emphasize the process, not just the outcome, and encourage to approach their ceremony as a space to give shape to the home they want to cultivate, the values they commit to, and the ideals they want to pursue. This reflection is the starting point for articulating vows, identifying texts and music, shaping a space, and designing an impactful experience for everyone present.
