Nicholas Clemency
Ordained Minister in Concord, North Carolina
Why did you originally become an ordained minister online?
I became a minister because every chapter of my life prepared me for it. It truly began during COVID, when isolation, fear, and loss created a deep need for connection and hope. I felt called to step in for others during that time — to pray with them, encourage them, and remind them they were not alone. My faith had carried me through hardship and loss, teaching me that the love of Christ is stronger than any season we face. As a combat veteran, I once lived by a clear mission to serve and protect. When that chapter closed, I realized my mission had simply changed. Now, I serve by standing with people in both joy and grief, offering compassion, strength, and hope. I became a minister not for a title, but because serving others with faith and love is who I am.

What do you hope to achieve with your online ordination?
I want to become ordained because my life has been shaped by faith, strengthened through loss, and sustained by hope and love. I have experienced seasons of hardship that tested my spirit, and in those moments, it was the love of Christ that carried me forward. That love did not remove the pain, but it gave it purpose.
As a combat veteran, I once lived with a very clear mission: to serve, protect, and stand in the gap for others. When that chapter of my life changed, I found myself asking what my next mission would be. Through prayer and reflection, I realized that my calling is still to serve — but now in a different way. Instead of carrying equipment, I carry encouragement. Instead of defending territory, I help defend hope.
I have seen firsthand how loss can break a person, and how faith can rebuild them. I want to be ordained so I can walk beside people in their most meaningful moments — whether in celebration, grief, uncertainty, or new beginnings — and remind them that they are not alone. I want to share the love of Christ with anyone who needs it, without judgment, and to be a steady presence rooted in compassion, strength, and grace.
For me, ordination is not about a title. It is about answering a call — a new mission grounded in faith, hope, and love — to serve others with humility and to reflect Christ’s love in every opportunity I am given.
