I am openly gay and I believe everyone should have the right to love who the would like to marry and be with regardless of what old books written and re-written multiple times and translated multiple times by people who have literally used people's religious beliefs as a tool to control the populations of who nations. It seems to me that our past has bee. Strife with wars started over wars that were mainly for profit and religion was used to justify the attacks on these people who were attacked over the centuries. I think it's time religion is kept in it's place. If you believe in a higher power then have morality and ethics and don't promote hate towards groups just because suddenly a book has a passage in it against them. It literally seems to me that there are added on passages by people who had an axe to grind against these. Groups like gay people or women in general or any group that wants to marry someone who isn't their race. These are all things born of fear and xenophobic behaviors and hatred. Any spiritual being , or GOD would not hate selective groups just for being what they were born as. Literally that would be like hating someone who is physically handicapped because they can't work like the Bible says they should by performing manual labor. This sort of thing is against the very nature of a loving and supportive and forgiving GOD. So it is easy to spot these religious views are Hypocritical add-on's by those who seek to spread fear and hate and control the general public all while they try to make themselves out to be the moral and ethical center of society. It spreads fear in the population also that if you are gay or of a different group / race or gender etc you are not even considered an equal human being.

Think on the fact that we see hate crimes of all types all over the country. Then suddenly we see defenses pop up like in the most recent gay hate crimes that the gay guy must have hit on the heterosexual and he was in gay panic or gay rage. Legal defenses like the gay panic defense allow for more lenient punishments for people accused of beating, torturing, or killing homosexuals

This is the world we need to fix.
