Pastoring is in my blood. My dad is/was (currently passing away due to cancer) a United Methodist fully ordained and full deacon in that church for 25+ years. He retired from the UMC and then opened his own non-denominational church in Goshen, Ohio with the help of his assistant pastor and our congregation. I have preached multiple times and am on our church's leadership council.

Being a pastor though is NOT about your dad being one. It a special journey one takes to be close to God and Jesus. The first thing is first, I am not God or Jesus. I cannot touch you and you will be healed (unless the Holy Spirit wills it to happen), but I do know them and love them, and they love me, just as they love you. My job is to help you see that and to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Additionally, I am here to help you, not to judge you.
