The Wandering Wizard Simon Kalimanus

I am the Wandering Wizard Simon Kalimanus. For nearly forty years I have traveled throughout the Americas, learning everything I can about the Universe. I one was a Fundamentalist Independent Baptist, having converted at 11, attending seminary and becoming a pastor, missionary, and evangelist.

I secretly studied the occult, paranormal, and supernatural in my spare time, and with the assistance of some friends I helped uncover a child-kidnapping cult in Rhode Island at the age of 17.

Throughout the early 2000's I went where I was needed along the East Coast responding to those with imminent spiritual and supernatural problems. I built up an organization called "ESPER," Extraordinary Supernatural Phenomena Explored and Revealed, which became a secret underground society of regular people all over the world responding to and helping other people with problems out of the ordinary.

I underwent a crisis of faith, as I never found any church organization willing to accept my ideas and practices. My own apologetics skills turned against my own beliefs, and for a while, I became an atheist. In those years I got married, started several businesses, and taught programming and a number of other practical skills. I even worked with the mayor of Tucson to bring an artistic community together for the purpose of helping art school graduates with no local career options and to improve the economic state of the city.

Things fell through as a business partner ruined me and I separated from my wife, but at this time I had found myself becoming pivotal in the inspiration and motivation of many local young people from the underprivileged Mexican, African-American, Native, and Chinese communities I found myself in.

It was in mid-2016 that I gave up my old name and life and became known to everyone as the Wandering Wizard Simon Kalimanus, and took on my first official apprentice.

Today, I am working toward building a community where people can live together freely and peacefully while learning skills to make themselves self-sufficient while simultaneously coming to understand the hidden excellence that has always been within them but which is restrained and repressed by society and religion.

The highest aspiration of this community is best found in the words of Hentry David Thoreau. "I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life. To put to rout all that was not life; and not, when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived."

I do not take money for any service, at any time. It is meaningless to me, a symbol of oppression and slavery. I will not make it part of my magick.
