I, like any other christian, understand well Oscar Wilde's words, when he says that “Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future.” This gives me hope on people commitements to God and makes me not only try to be a better man tomorrow, but also an easy understanding of people's feelings. It just takes one thing actually, and that is the beauty of it: just listen carefully. Not hear, but rather listen. As the priesthood, as St. Alphonsus Liguori said, “The end for which God has instituted the priesthood has been to appoint on earth public persons to watch over the honor of his divine majesty, and to procure the salvation of souls.” I just do my humble share in this vast Universe.
