I'm a licensed mental health therapist with a faith background in evangelical churches and church leadership (Southern Baptist, Presbyterian, and non-denominational). I'm currently a member of an ELCA Lutheran church (LGBTQ affirming), partly due to being a member of the LGBTQ community myself. I'm best suited to performing weddings for people with Christian faith or no religious affiliation. This includes members of the LGBTQ community who may have experienced church rejection, and are not active members of a Christian denomination at this time. Due to being a therapist with a background in individual, couples, and family counseling; I would consider providing up to 3 sessions of pre-marital counseling that focuses on communication style, conflict resolution, setting boundaries and expectations, etc. Please note that this would utilize my experience as a therapist, but I would not be in an official capacity as a licensed clinician nor will I bill insurance providers for this service. It would be considered a part of the officiating fee.
